Service Description
Looking for the fastest path to improvement or a more personalized experience? Our private surf lesson is a one-on-one session tailored entirely to your pace, goals, and comfort level—perfect for first-timers, focused learners, or anyone who wants to hone specific skills with direct instructor feedback. Lessons take place at Crescent Bay Park, 2000 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90405, just south of the lifeguard tower at Bay Street Beach. A location pin and checklist will be sent after booking. 🏄 What to Expect: * 1-on-1 private coaching with a skilled instructor * Lesson timing is flexible depending on the skill(s) we're working on * Step-by-step guidance based on your evaluated skill level—whether it's ocean safety, paddling, wave reading, pop-ups, turning, or trimming * All gear included: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, and rash guard * Instructors stay in the water with you the entire time * Private lessons are designed for those who really want to focus, ask questions, and progress quickly. 🧳 What to Bring: * A reusable water bottle * Towel * Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred) * Swimsuit (worn under the wetsuit) * Sandals or flip-flops * Change of clothes if desired 🔒 Belongings & Storage: We provide a safe, designated spot for you to store your personal belongings during the lesson. We keep an eye on gear, but recommend bringing only essentials and leaving valuables at home. ⚠️ Important Notes: * Surfing involves real risks—boards, waves, wildlife (e.g., sting rays), and other participants. Your signed waiver acknowledges and accepts these risks * You must be able to swim and be in general good health * All participants must sign a waiver before their lesson (parent or guardian must sign for minors) * Instructors may provide hands-on guidance to support safety and learning * We do not provide medical or accident insurance
Cancellation Policy
Late Arrivals (Small Group Lessons): If a client is 15 minutes late, the lesson will continue without them if other participants are present. If the client is the only one scheduled, we will wait up to 30 minutes. We will make an effort to contact the client if they are late. Late Arrivals (Private Lessons): We will wait up to 45 minutes for a client. Any lesson that reaches the maximum wait time will be canceled and not refunded. Cancellations: * 48 hours before the lesson: 50% refund. * Under 24 hours: No refund. * Weather-related cancellations: Full refund or reschedule. * Reschedules under 24 hours: No refund. * Emergency Situations: A refund may be provided with substantial evidence (e.g., doctor's note, insurance claim, etc.).
